Job Description Psychometrist Lead
The Department of Neuropsychology at Shepherd Center in Atlanta, Georgia is pleased to announce that it is recruiting a Psychometrist Lead to join an established department that has seven neuropsychologists, two neuropsychology postdoctoral fellows, and five psychometricians (2 full-time, 3 PRN).

The Psychometrist Lead is an integral member of the Department of Neuropsychology and performs a variety of duties, including supervising psychometry staff, training new staff and incoming trainees on administration and scoring of test batteries, coordinating and managing the daily activities of the neuropsychology testing service, and collaborating on specific projects as they relate to clinic operations and research endeavors. Additionally, the Psychometrist Lead also performs as a working psychometrist with both inpatients and outpatients.

RESPONSIBILITIES
o Provides guidance, mentorship and training to lower-level Psychometrist and students.
o Acclimates new neuropsychology fellows, residents and research assistants to the department
o Assists with hiring, training, performance appraisals, staff development, and staff discipline when appropriate.
o Ensures the uniformity of test administration and data collection across psychometrists.
o Coordinates and communicates the time and place for test administration, ensuring that patients referred for testing are seen in a timely manner.
o Serves as a liaison between faculty and support staff, explaining departmental policies and procedures, resolving problems, and coordinating activities.
o Maintains and updates testing materials in the neuropsychological test laboratory.
o Oversight of demographic and neuropsychological data entry into various databases for clinical research purposes.
o Administers and scores neuropsychological and/or psychological tests to inpatients with acute brain injuries and spinal cord injuries, as well as outpatients at Shepherd Center under the supervision of a Neuropsychologist.
o Provides behavioral observations of patients and maintains interface with neuropsychologists and related hospital personnel.
o Communicates verbally and in writing with neuropsychologists, patients, and care providers in an efficient and timely manner.
o Explains testing procedures and objectives to subjects, and works with subjects to facilitate compliance with protocol and procedures and to ensure appropriate test completion.
o Maintains accurate records, confidentiality of test results, and the security of testing materials.
o Participates in department committees and/or research projects as requested by supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS
o Master's Degree in Clinical Psychology, Rehabilitation Counseling, Counseling Psychology or related field preferred.
o Must have education and training in administration and scoring of neuropsychological and psychological tests.
o 4+ years neuropsychological psychometry experience.
o Experience working with adults with brain injuries preferred.
o Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
o Strong interpersonal, organizational and time management skills, clinical judgment, and ability to empathize with and encourage maximal effort from a varied patient population.
o Ability to work in a team environment and to collaborate with medical and other professional faculty/staff.
o Demonstrable skills in problem solving, personal flexibility, resourcefulness in decision making, prioritization, time management, and attention to detail.
o Ability to troubleshoot difficult testing situations and administers individual psychological tests and test batteries in a controlled environment to patients.
o Data entry and management experience.
o Expertise in Neuropsychological test administration, scoring age specific neuropsychological tests, and data processing.
o Knowledge of psychological & behavioral testing methods, procedures, and standards
o Understands psychometrics applied to neuropsychological assessment as well as relationship between neurological disorders and behavior problems arising during neuropsychological assessment.
