Position Neuropsychology Postdoctoral Fellow

Job Description The University of Kentucky College of Medicine, Department of Neurology, Neurocognitive Diagnostic Service is recruiting one neuropsychology postdoctoral fellow. Training adheres to the Houston Conference Guidelines. Training is predominantly clinical (60-70%) with the remainder dedicated to academic activities. The University of Kentucky's Department of Neurology has a rich history, and the Neurocognitive Diagnostic Service is an integral component of the Neurology, Neurosurgery, and Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation departments at UK HealthCare and receives additional referrals from over two dozen UK service lines and regional healthcare systems.

The UK HealthCare/University of Kentucky is a 945 bed medical center with the only National Institute of Aging-Alzheimer's Disease Center in the region and home of "The Nun Study" between 1986 and 2008. Our faculty serve as Principal Investigators and consultants on National Institute of Health and Department of Defense grants, as well as national clinical trials. UK HealthCare is ranked number 1 in Kentucky, and UK's Neurology and Neurosurgery departments are ranked among the top 50 in the nation by the U.S. News & World Report's Best Hospitals Rankings.

As part of a comprehensive diagnostic service, the UK Neurocognitive Diagnostic Service offers neurocognitive/neuropsychological evaluations for populations with neurodegenerative disorders, movement disorders, epilepsy, cancer, stroke, multiple sclerosis, head injuries, and other neurologic conditions. Opportunities for academic research in these areas are readily available.

Salary is competitive and will be comparable to the starting year's NIH postdoctoral fellow stipend rate. The applicant must come from an APA-accredited clinical psychology doctoral program and pre-doctoral internship. Training history must demonstrate that clinical neuropsychology has been a major area of study. The applicant's dissertation must be completed by the start date. The start date is July 1, 2018 but negotiable. The applicant must be eligible for temporary licensure in Kentucky by the start date.
