CLINICAL NEUROPSYCHOLOGIST
Immediate opening for a full-time, clinical neuropsychologist at the Assistant Professor level to work in the Outpatient Neuropsychology and Rehabilitation Psychology Service, Virginia Commonwealth University Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. VCU Health is the region's only Level 1 trauma center and has consistently been rated as the best hospital in the Richmond metro area. The Neuropsychology and Rehabilitation Psychology Outpatient Program provides assessment and counseling services for individuals with a wide range of neurological conditions, including TBI, stroke, epilepsy, dementia, and movement disorders.
An excellent career opportunity for a psychologist interested in working with patients having a wide range of neurological injuries and illnesses. The position requires a doctoral degree in clinical or rehabilitation psychology, and completion of a 24 month or more neuropsychology postdoctoral fellowship. The position requires Virginia state licensure or license-eligibility, and the individual must currently possess ABPP-CN board certification. Competence and expertise with neuropsychological and psychological assessment, psychological and behavioral therapies, behavior management, and emotional adjustment to disability are strongly preferred. The ideal candidate should have experience with assessment and treatment of traumatic brain injury, including concussion, and dementia. Must have demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff and student environment or commitment to do so as a faculty member at VCU.
