Job Description Developmental Behavioral Pediatrician Position Available

The UAMS Department of Pediatrics is seeking candidates for a position at the Schmieding Developmental Center in Lowell, AR as a Developmental Behavioral Pediatrician. The faculty position would be at a rank to be determined by years of experience. Candidates must have a M.D. and be board certified/board eligible in Developmental Pediatrics.

The Developmental Behavioral Pediatrician will have the primary responsibility of providing services to the patient population currently served at the clinic. This is largely children with neurodevelopmental disabilities and chronic medical conditions that complicate behavioral and emotional adjustment and parenting. The physician will also serve children with comorbidities or presumed routine childhood emotional and behavioral issues not responding to traditional treatment such as ADHD and Behavior disorders.

The Schmieding Developmental Center performs multidisciplinary team evaluations, testing and follow-up for patients with a variety of diagnoses including neurobehavioral problems, attention problems, developmental disorders, genetic disorders, and related diagnoses. The Center currently directly employs 7 clinicians (1 child and adolescent psychiatrist, 1 independently licensed psychological examiner, a psychology postdoctoral fellow, a licensed social worker, 2 neuropsychologists (1 open recruitment), a behavior health psychologist, and together providers see over 260 patients per month with additional growth expected.
