Brief Job Description
This postdoctoral fellowship provides an opportunity for a trainee to develop as an independent researcher as well as grow and contribute to MS Pillar research initiatives. The trainee will work with the Multiple Sclerosis Research Group under the primary supervision of Dr. Lisa Walker, Neuropsychologist (TOH) and Clinician Scientist (OHRI) in the Cognitive Health in Multiple Sclerosis Research Lab, and in collaboration with Dr. Mark Freedman (Director, TOH MS Clinic; OHRI Senior Scientist) and other members of the Ottawa Hospital MS Clinic (affiliate of the Canadian Network of MS Clinics).

The uOBMRI MS Research Group includes a large group of clinician researchers and basic scientists all working toward a better understanding of MS from diverse perspectives. Ongoing research represents a spectrum that includes examination of cellular mechanisms and immunological markers to applied clinical research. The primary aim of the fellowship is for preparation of funding applications that foster such partnerships. In addition, the fellow will participate in ongoing initiatives that may include: an MS Clinic cognitive screening program, designing of cognitive fatigue interventions, assessment of outcomes following mesenchymal stem cell therapy, examination of cognitive outcomes following exercise interventions, and other related initiatives.
