Position Clinical Neuropsychologist
Location Houston, TX
Job Description Position Opening: Clinical Neuropsychologist
Houston Neuropsychology Associates, PLLC (Houston, TX)
Summer/Fall 2020

We are pleased to announce a full-time position opening for a clinical neuropsychologist to join our group private practice in Houston, TX. Our work consists of outpatient neuropsychological evaluations of adults and older adults, as well as a minority of pediatric cases. Referrals typically come from area neurologists, psychiatrists, and other physicians (e.g., internal medicine).

Our group consists of six neuropsychologists (five of whom are board certified), one licensed psychological associate, three technicians, and four office staff. We are committed to bringing on a colleague who is either board-certified or intends to become board certified in the near future. We are pleased to provide full support for board certification expenses.

The position is full-time, salaried, and includes numerous benefits (paid time off, health insurance, retirement plan with matching employer contribution, short- and long-term disability insurance, life insurance, licensure renewal fees, and support for board certification costs). There is also a yearly stipend for continuing education. The practice provides all necessary office space, furniture, computer hardware and software, technician labor, and testing materials. We have excellent administrative, IT, and billing support as well.

We place a high value on providing a friendly, supportive work environment. Our goal is to do our best work, make a good living, and enjoy the process! We value collegiality, flexibility, humor, and an appreciation of the business nature of private practice. The ideal candidate will join us as an associate and eventually become a partner/co-owner of the practice. There is no rigid hierarchy in our practice. We seek to provide the best possible interpersonal environment, support, and tools to do one's best work.

We have a shared philosophy regarding practice ownership and governance. The practice is co-owned by the four neuropsychologists who work full-time and we would hope to include the new hire in an ownership role following a transition period and mutual agreement.

Minimum qualifications include: 1) a doctoral degree in clinical psychology, counseling psychology, or clinical neuropsychology; 2) completion of a postdoctoral fellowship in neuropsychology; and 3) licensure as a psychologist. Individuals who are nearly licensed or would be able to become licensed in Texas in the near future are welcome to apply as well. The candidate must have training in clinical neuropsychology consistent with the Houston Conference guidelines and be eligible for board certification in clinical neuropsychology through the American Board of Professional Psychology. Texas licensure is preferred, although candidates licensed in other states or provinces are encouraged to apply as well. Texas currently has reciprocity at the doctoral level with four states (Arkansas, Louisiana, Missouri, and Nebraska) and two Canadian provinces (Manitoba and Ontario).

Houston is the fourth largest city in the United States and hosts the world's largest concentration of research and healthcare institutions. The city is widely known for its arts and culture, professional sports teams, restaurants, and diverse industries (healthcare, energy, and technology).
