NAN Day on the Hill

Members of the NAN Board and volunteer leaders met with congressional leaders to introduce NAN as content experts to advance an appreciation of what neuropsychology can offer, and to support expansion of telehealth. Our efforts were highly successful and energizing for the organization, and we look forward to further developing relationships with members of Congress. 

Highlights in 2022 Include:

  • Met with APA's Stephen Gillaspy, PhD, Senior Director for the Office of Health Care Financing and Scott Barstow, Director, Congressional Affairs 
  • Met with Shari Ling, MD, Deputy Chief Medical Officer and Doug Jacobs MD, MPH, Chief Transformational Officer for the Center for Clinical Standards and Quality (CCSQ) and for the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) 
  • Met with 20 congressional and senatorial offices (Committees included Ways and Means, Doctors Caucus, Neuroscience Caucus) 
  • Introduced NAN as a resource, discussed extension of the telehealth waiver, funding of psychology trainees and psychologists to be included under the physician definition
