Benjamin (Ben) Vandendriessche is CEO at the Digital Medicine Society (DiMe), dedicated to advancing digital medicine to optimize human health. His personal drive stems from the conviction that digital health technologies deployed at scale are key to developing better therapies, improving quality of care, and ultimately better patient outcomes. He has more than a decade of experience developing digital health technologies for clinical trials and care delivery, including US and EU market access and reimbursement pathways. Previously, Ben was Chief Medical Officer at health tech startup Byteflies, developing a remote patient monitoring platform for clinical trials and virtual care applications. He trained in molecular biology, systems physiology, and data analytics for vital sign processing. He completed a PhD in Molecular Biology at Ghent University as an IWT Fellow, followed by a postdoc on the interface of Critical Care Medicine and Computer Science at Case Western Reserve University (CWRU) as a BAEF Fellow. He holds an adjunct assistant professor position at CWRU and publishes regularly on all things digital medicine.
