Salary Range: $3703.20 to $4887.20 Bi-weekly

Responsibilities
The Psychologist II provides neuropsychological and psychological services with emphasis outpatients and inpatients in a rehabilitation setting, with a primary focus on outpatient adults.

Qualifications
REQUIRED
o Ph.D. or Psy.D. Degree in clinical or counseling psychology.
o Valid psychology license in the State of California.
o Knowledge of and proficiency in administering, scoring, and interpreting neuropsychological and psychological measures of cognitive and personality functioning.
o Knowledge and experience to apply the principles of differential diagnosis effectively in a rehabilitation/medical setting with adult patients presenting with neuropsychological and psychological problems.
o Knowledge of psychotherapy approaches (e.g., cognitive-behavioral therapy, psychodynamically-oriented psychotherapy, crisis counseling and grief therapy) and cognitive rehabilitation approaches.
o Knowledge of behavioral medicine interventions including: biofeedback, stress reduction, progressive relaxation, visual imagery and pain control. Ability to apply these principles in a patient treatment setting with patients who not only experience emotional problems, but have accompanying physical disabilities.
o Knowledge and skill to apply the principles of family therapy and knowledge of the cognitive, behavioral, and emotional sequelae of brain injury, spinal cord injury, and amputations.
o Knowledge of principles and practices of clinical supervision.
o Knowledge of appropriate referral agencies and their functions as well as the ability to deal effectively with the personnel from these agencies.
o Knowledge of appropriate treatment interventions and the ability to deal effectively with other members of the rehabilitation treatment team including physicians, physical therapists, occupational therapists, speech pathologists, orthotists, nursing staff, social workers, peer counselors, and students.
o Knowledge of legal, ethical, hospital, departmental, and section requirements of charting, obtaining release of information forms, billing and record keeping and the ability to complete these tasks in an appropriate and timely manner.
o Knowledge of psychological, ethics, theory and practice including but not limited to such topics as psychopathology, psychological testing, neuropsychology, behavioral medicine, techniques for pain control, biofeedback, relaxation therapy, sexual counseling, behavioral therapy and psychodynamic therapy, and the ability to communicate this information to others in a teaching situation.
o Valid psychology license in the State of California.
o CPR certification.

PREFERRED
o Adult neurologic expertise.
o Experience in a academic healthcare setting.
o Experience treating neurologic disorders.
