Position Neuropsychology Post-Doctoral Fellow
Location Lexington, KY
Job Description The University of Kentucky College of Medicine Department of Neurology is recruiting one neuropsychology postdoctoral fellow for the Neuropsychology Division. This postdoctoral training program prepares candidates for ABPP-CN eligibility upon completion. Training is predominantly clinical (60-70%) with the remainder dedicated to academic activity (e.g., research, didactics, seminars). The UK Department of Neurology has a rich history, and its Neurocognitive Diagnostic Service is a comprehensive clinic offering services for patients throughout the lifespan. This service is an integral component of the Neurology, Neurosurgery, and Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation departments at UK HealthCare and receives additional referrals from over two dozen UK service lines and regional healthcare systems.

UK HealthCare is a 945 bed medical center with the only National Institute of Aging-Alzheimer's Disease Center in the region. Our faculty serve as Principal Investigators and consultants on National Institute of Health and Department of Defense grants, as well as national and international clinical trials. UK HealthCare is ranked number 1 in Kentucky, and UK's Neurology and Neurosurgery departments were ranked among the top 50 in the nation for 2017-2018 by the U.S. News & World Report's Best Hospitals Rankings.

The UK Neurocognitive Diagnostic Service offers neurocognitive evaluations for populations with neurodegenerative disorders, movement disorders, epilepsy, cancer, vascular disease, multiple sclerosis, traumatic brain injuries, and other neurologic conditions. Faculty members are also embedded into multidisciplinary teams for pre-surgical epilepsy, deep brain stimulation, and transplant evaluations. Opportunities for academic research in these areas are readily available.

This position will be employed under UK's postdoctoral scholar designation with benefits including health insurance and professional development funds. Salary is competitive and will be comparable to the starting year's NIH postdoctoral fellow stipend rate. The applicant must be a graduate of an APA-accredited clinical psychology doctoral program and pre-doctoral internship. Training history must demonstrate that neuropsychology has been a major area of study and internship focus. The applicant's dissertation must be completed by the start date. The anticipated start date is July 1, 2019 but is flexible depending on the candidate's pre-doctoral internship completion date. The applicant must be eligible for temporary licensure in the Commonwealth of Kentucky by the time fellowship begins.

Application deadline is Friday, December 14, 2018. Interested applicants should forward their letter of interest, CV, 4 work samples (including at least 2 de-identified reports and 2 additional reports or original publications), copy of graduate transcripts, and 3 letters of recommendation to: NeuroEducation@uky.edu. Recommendation letters may be forwarded separately by the writers. Applicants will be notified of their consideration by mid-January 2019. Phone interviews will occur in mid to late January and final interviews will be at INS or onsite. For more information, see related links below. The UK Neurocognitive Diagnostic Service is not currently participating in the APPCN match.
