Location Omaha, NE
Job Description Position Summary:
The Neuropsychology Division in the Department of Neurological Sciences (DONS) at the University of Nebraska Medical Center (UNMC), in partnership with Nebraska Medicine hospital, is pleased to announce an opening for a full-time pediatric neuropsychologist. The position includes a faculty appointment within the Department with rank commensurate with qualifications and experience.
The primary focus of the position will involve outpatient neuropsychological evaluations and Wada assessments with children and adolescents receiving care from the rapidly growing, interdisciplinary UNMC Comprehensive Epilepsy Program. The Program is a Level 4 regional epilepsy center with an 8 private bed Epilepsy Monitoring Unit. Opportunities for clinical program development and subspecialization exist, depending on the neuropsychologist's interests and areas of expertise.
While primarily a clinical position, the neuropsychologist is expected to further contribute to the UNMC academic mission. Teaching and supervision of neuropsychology trainees and medical residents/fellows, community outreach activities, and research collaboration are encouraged. UNMC possesses a wealth of research-based opportunities including access to the Center for Advanced Medical Imaging and the UNMC MEG center.
The pediatric neuropsychologist will join a collaborative team in the DONS Neuropsychology Division that is comprised of six adult/geriatric focused neuropsychologists, one part-time pediatric neuropsychologist, two adult/geriatric-focused neuropsychology fellows, and six psychometrists.
