Job Description Clinical Neuropsychologist
The Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital and the Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH), teaching affiliates of Harvard Medical School, seeks a clinical neuropsychologist to join our faculty. Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital (SRH) is nationally recognized and the home to the Harvard Medical School Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. The successful candidate will be appointed to the MGH Professional Staff and the SRH Medical Staff by the Trustees of each Hospital and recommended for a faculty appointment at the rank of Instructor or Assistant Professor at Harvard Medical School.
Role and Responsibilities: We are seeking a clinical neuropsychologist with expertise in the assessment and treatment of (i) mild traumatic brain injury (TBI), (ii) sport-related concussions, and/or (iii) later-in-life brain health in athletes, civilians, and veterans who have sustained repetitive neurotrauma. Candidates who have training and experience across the full spectrum of mild TBI, including working with athletes who have sustained concussions, civilians who have sustained mild TBIs, and retired athletes and military veterans who have experienced repetitive neurotrauma and who are being evaluated for mental health problems and mild cognitive impairment later in life, are strongly encouraged to apply. Experience and expertise in all areas, however, is not required. Our faculty members have close relationships and collaborations with the MassGeneral Hospital for Children㤠Sports Concussion Program (https://www.massgeneral.org/children/concussion), Harvard Football Players Health Study (Homepage - Harvard Football Players Health Study), and Home Base, a Red Sox Foundation and Massachusetts General Hospital Program that provides clinical care for military veterans and their families (www.homebase.org).
The amount of time spent conducting and collaborating on research is negotiable and depends upon the career goals of the candidate. Qualifications: This position requires the completion of a PhD or PsyD in clinical psychology or neuropsychology from an APA/CPA accredited doctoral program, a predoctoral internship with training in neuropsychology at an APA/CPA accredited program, and a two-year post-doctoral fellowship in clinical neuropsychology. The applicant must be licensed or license-eligible in the state of Massachusetts.
