Faculty Position for Clinical Neuropsychologist Specializing in Neurodegenerative Disorders

The University of Pittsburgh Department of Neurology and Alzheimer's Disease Research Center (ADRC), in the School of Medicine, are seeking a clinical neuropsychologist for an Assistant Professor position with a combination of research and clinical activities.

The University of Pittsburgh ADRC is a long-established NIA-funded Center since 1985, which has a productive history of conducting and supporting research to advance understanding of the etiology and pathogenesis of Alzheimer's Disease and related dementias. University of Pittsburgh ADRC Investigators include neurologists, psychiatrists, neuropsychologists, geriatricians, pathologists, biostatisticians, geneticists, neuroscientists, and epidemiologists. The Center fosters collaborations with other national and international centers of excellence, in an inter-disciplinary environment that supports innovative research and enhances training and educational opportunities for patients, caregivers, students, scientists and clinicians.

This position will include a combination of outpatient clinical neuropsychology activities in the Department of Neurology, University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC), and essential Co-Investigator activities with the University of Pittsburgh ADRC and associated studies involving neuropsychological assessment and adjudication of cognitive diagnoses. Study settings and topics include neuroimaging, biomarkers, clinical trials, neuropathology, genetics, COVID, chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE) and epidemiology. Opportunities for the candidate to develop an independent line of research are abundant and supported, if desired.

Candidates should have strong expertise in neuropsychological evaluation and research experience in dementia is preferred. Candidates must be qualified for licensure in Psychology or must be willing to complete postdoctoral training requirements for licensure in Pennsylvania. Candidates should have a Ph.D., Psy.D, or foreign equivalent, in clinical psychology or clinical neuropsychology from an APA and/or CPA accredited program, internship training and minimum 2-year post-doctoral training in clinical neuropsychology.
