Job Description Adult/Geriatric Clinical Neuropsychologist

The department of neuropsychology at Baystate Medical Center, the regional campus for the University of Massachusetts Chan Medical School, is expanding and has an opening for a clinical neuropsychologist with expertise in working with adult and geriatric populations.

Baystate Neuropsychology is a highly supportive and experienced team comprised of three neuropsychologists and two psychometrists. This model provides an integrated team approach for seeing a broad range of complex adult/geriatric referrals. Our established program receives steady referrals from throughout the region and from a variety of specialists including internal medicine, psychiatry, neurology, physical medicine & rehabilitation and neurosurgery. Therefore, the position requires a working knowledge base in areas such as seizure disorders, traumatic brain injury, cerebral vascular accidents, dementia, anoxic events, cardiac disease, sleep disorders, and other injuries and diseases affecting the central nervous system.

This position will include participation in our interdisciplinary Memory Assessment and Care Clinic as well as opportunities for collaboration with subspecialty clinics (e.g., assessment of deep brain stimulation implant and pre-epilepsy surgery candidates). Further opportunities include an academic appointment at the University of Massachusetts Chan Medical School, teaching medical students, residents, and psychology practicum students. The position is primarily clinical though could be supplemented by research collaboration, at the provider's discretion.

Baystate Medical Center is located in western Massachusetts (Springfield), an area with easy access to several designated cultural districts (Amherst, Easthampton, Northampton, and the Berkshires), restaurants, outdoor recreational opportunities, and strong school systems.

Qualifications:
- Doctorate in Psychology (Ph.D./Psy.D.) and Licensure/Licensure-eligible in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
- Two-year post-doctoral training in clinical neuropsychology from a medical school/academic medical center training program or equivalent (having met the Houston Conference guidelines).
- An adult/geriatric neuropsychological orientation is required with previous training and experience working with this age range in a medical setting.

Education:
- Doctor of Psychology: Psychology (Required)

Certifications:
- Basic Life Support - American Heart Association
