Job Description Sentara Medical Group is searching for a talented neuropsychologist to join our outstanding team at Sentara Neurosciences. The position is a full time employment position based primarily out of our neurology office in the Sentara Careplex complex in beautiful Hampton, Virginia. The Neuropsychologist will join a collegial Neurology Division comprised of 3 other Neuropsychologists, multiple Neurologists and Advanced Practice Providers in Neurology, Neurosurgery, Social Work, and Rehabilitation Therapy Professionals. Our Neurology providers practice general Neurology as well as several sub-specialties, including: Cognitive Neurology, Stroke, Neuromuscular, Epilepsy, Multiple Sclerosis, Headache, and Movement Disorders. Patient populations include adults and older adults with dementia, movement disorders, stroke, brain injury, epilepsy as well as neuropsychiatric presentations and a broad range of complex medical disorders.

Clinical responsibilities of this position are provision of outpatient neuropsychological assessment of patients referred from both inside and outside Sentara Medical Group. Opportunities for pre and/or post epilepsy surgery, WADA, presurgical psychological evaluations for neurostimulator devices, and DBS evaluations are available. The neuropsychologist is responsible for test administration (no psychometrists are currently on staff) and for rapid report turnaround time. Opportunities may exist for supervision of students and trainees, possible involvement in clinical research trials or consultation to inpatient rehabilitation services depending on the interests of the candidate and needs of the department. Opportunities will also be present to participate in multidisciplinary case conferences and other didactic experiences offered by neurosciences and the medical group at large.

Board certified or board eligible candidates in neuropsychology are preferred, with some professional experience in neurodegenerative disorders. The candidate must be licensed or license eligible in the State of Virginia. A licensed psychologist interested in a 2 year postdoctoral training program may be considered.
