Job Description The Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Harvard Medical School, in collaboration with Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital and the Schoen Adams Research Institute at Spaulding Rehabilitation, seeks applications for one or more full-time Post-Doctoral Fellows in Concussion, Rehabilitation, and/or Neuropsychology starting in the summer or fall of 2023. The amount of time spent doing research is negotiable based on the training goals and career aspirations of the candidates. Fellows may spend anywhere from 25% to 100% of their time engaged in clinical research.

Our team specializes in clinical research in sport-related concussion, mild traumatic brain injury, psychometrics, systematic reviews, neuropsychology, blood biomarkers, neuroimaging, and later-in-life brain health. Candidates with prior experience in two or more of these areas are encouraged to apply. We are pursuing a program of research involving exercise as treatment for persistent symptoms in children and adolescents. We are also pursuing a program of research relating to providing virtual specialty concussion care to underserved youth in cities and in rural areas. Candidates with an interest in active rehabilitation research with underserved youth are encouraged to apply.

Our faculty members have close relationships and collaborations with the MassGeneral Hospital for Children Sports Concussion Program (https://www.massgeneral.org/children/concussion) and Home Base, a Red Sox Foundation and Massachusetts General Hospital Program that provides clinical care for military veterans and their families (www.homebase.org).

Teaching rounds and other didactic experiences will be provided through various departments at Harvard Medical School and affiliated hospitals, including Massachusetts General Hospital and Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital. Fellows will be eligible for academic appointments at Harvard Medical School. The salary for this position is $68,000.

Applications: These fellowships are open to candidates with doctoral degrees in clinical psychology (with neuropsychology experience), rehabilitation sciences, exercise science, kinesiology, and related fields. The successful applicant in neuropsychology should meet the minimum criteria listed below.

Have a PhD or PsyD in clinical psychology or neuropsychology from an APA/CPA accredited doctoral program.

Have completed a predoctoral internship in an APA/CPA accredited program.

Have clinical experience with psychological and neuropsychological assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation.

Have completed coursework in physiological psychology, neuroanatomy, and neuropsychology.

Have a commitment to clinical research and a goal to pursue an academic career in a teaching faculty (e.g., psychology department) or an academic medical center.
