Job Description Psychologist

Cottage Rehabilitation Hospital (CRH) provides comprehensive medical rehabilitation services - both inpatient and outpatient - to empower people with disabilities to achieve optimum quality of life. Serving Santa Barbara, Ventura, and San Luis Obispo counties for over 60 years, CRH is the Central Coast's premier provider of medical rehabilitation services. CRH serves people with brain and spinal cord injury, stroke and stroke-related disorders, musculoskeletal dysfunction, chronic pain, and other neurological and complex orthopedic conditions. CRH is recognized for its quality of compassionate care.

Provides psychological assessment and treatment, and neuropsychological screening. Reviews charts, preadmit information and prior medical records in preparation for assessment and treatment. Provides brief or more in-depth assessments based on relevant clinical issues. For psychological assessments and neuropsychological screens, makes brief initial summaries in the patient's chart on the day of assessment and ensures the full assessment is filed in the medical record within 72 hours of the completion of the assessment. Collaborates in the treatment of brain injured patients in coordination with the patient care team for conducting effective family intervention and education, and behavioral interventions for agitated and brain injured patients. Consults with team members and patients/caregivers to facilitate an understanding of assessment results and treatment plans.

EDUCATION
Minimum: Possess an earned doctorate in clinical psychology from a university or school of professional psychology with academic specialization and pre-doctoral internship in neuropsychology, health, or rehabilitation psychology.

CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Minimum: Licensed as a Psychologist in the State of California. AHA BLS certified.

YEARS OF RELATED WORK EXPERIENCE
Minimum: 2 years post-doctorate clinical experience, at least 1 of which is in an interdisciplinary rehabilitation team setting where psychology is practiced regularly.
