The National Academy of Neuropsychology (NAN) has been actively engaged in advancing global partnerships to promote neuropsychology, brain health, and brain education worldwide. The year 2025 has marked a pivotal moment for the international brain health movement, as momentum continues to build at the policy and investment levels. The United Nations (UN) and its agencies are now planning and designing programs for a post-2030 global health era, with the objective of developing a comprehensive Global Health Action Plan featuring measurable milestones and funding commitments supported through governmental, academic, and corporate collaborations.

As part of this evolving effort, NAN has joined forces with the European Brain Council (EBC), one of the leading advocates for brain research and policy integration in Europe. NAN was honored to be invited to participate in the Brain Days Science Summit, held in conjunction with the 80th United Nations General Assembly in New York City from September 24–26, 2025.

Through participation, NAN contributed to discussions that emphasized the critical role of neuropsychology in global brain health policy - highlighting the importance of early detection, prevention, and equitable access to cognitive health services. NAN’s representation at the UN underscores its commitment to ensuring that brain and mental health remain central priorities within international health frameworks and sustainable development agendas.
