Full Time Neuropsychologist

We are seeking an experienced neuropsychologist to provide clinical care via neuropsychological evaluations for adults in general outpatient services and our memory center, both of which are housed in the department of rehab and neurology. Candidates who also have specialized concussion experience are encouraged to apply, given opportunities to help develop and launch a concussion program. The candidate would be joining a cohesive neuropsychology department with ample opportunities to work within a multidisciplinary setting with neurologists, rehabilitation physicians, nurses and rehabilitation therapists.

Join us in our highly sought outpatient neuropsychology assessment services. Maximize progress for outpatient rehabilitation patients and treatment team. Help mentor our APA accredited psychology/neuropsychology interns and graduate psychology students.
•Diversity in work experiences. The neuropsychologists provide comprehensive as well as more limited/efficient neuropsychological evaluations with a wide variety of patients. Neurological etiologies include TBI, concussion, stroke, major and mild neurocognitive disorder, anoxia/hypoxia, brain tumor, metabolic, MS, substance-related and other etiologies. Nearly all outpatients are adult to geriatric ages. Persons served have a wide distribution of patient demographic characteristics. In addition to assessment, the neuropsychologists provides short-term intervention (therapy) for neurological patients recently discharged from our inpatient unit, as well as possible intervention needs (based on interest) for post-concussive syndrome, somatization disorders, functional neurological disorders, etc. Although the main focus is on outpatient work, there are opportunities to participate in our inpatient neurological rehabilitation program, emphasizing interdisciplinary team work, brief cognitive assessment, and individual and group therapy.

Qualifications
Education, Training and Experience:
Doctoral degree in Psychology, APA approved internship in psychology, postdoctoral fellowship in neuropsychology. Board certification in clinical neuropsychology preferred, board eligible required. Licensed in the state of New York. Five years related experience in neuropsychology is preferred but not required.
