About Bridges of the Mind
Bridges of the Mind Psychological Services, Inc. is a comprehensive psychological and neuropsychological assessment practice specializing in neurodevelopmental disorders, including Autism Spectrum Disorders, ADHD, and Learning Disorders. Founded by Dr. Erika Frieze, we serve individuals across the lifespan through clarifying assessments and personalized interventions, with offices in Sacramento, San Jose, and South Lake Tahoe. As a teaching practice, we are passionate about developing the next generation of experts in neurodiversity. Our work is guided by the values of Growth, Empathy, Collaboration, and Empowerment.
Position Summary
Our practice specializes in neurodevelopmental and learning disability assessment. We are seeking a Training Director who is passionate and experienced in neurodevelopmental assessment, with a commitment to high-quality, evidence-based care and developing the next generation of neuroaffirmative clinicians.
This role leads and refines clinical training across our practicum, internship, and postdoctoral programs. You will provide individual and group supervision, lead didactic trainings, oversee program operations and compliance, and partner with the Clinical Director to strengthen training systems—all while maintaining your own testing caseload. Approximately half your time is dedicated to training leadership and half to direct clinical services.
Our training program is well-established. This role is not about building from scratch—it’s about maintaining consistency, strengthening systems, supporting trainee development, and advancing progress toward APA accreditation.
Qualifications
- PsyD or PhD in Psychology, Educational Psychology, or a related field from an accredited institution
- Current, active, and unrestricted California license in good standing
- Minimum of 2–3 years of clinical supervision experience, including serving as a primary supervisor for practicum students, interns, and/or postdoctoral fellows
- Experience with or exposure to APA-accredited or accreditation-seeking training programs preferred
- Demonstrated competency in psychological assessment, including autism assessment (ADOS-2 experience preferred)
- Strong understanding of ethical and legal standards in clinical practice and training
- Excellent communication, organizational, and time management skills
- Comfort using clinical and training-related technology (e.g., EHR systems, video conferencing, learning platforms)
Who Will Thrive in This Role
We’re looking for someone who:
- Adapts supervision to meet each trainee where they are and supports growth toward independence
- Is highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage structure, timelines, and program requirements
- Thinks independently and can identify and address challenges within their scope while keeping leadership aligned
- Contributes to a supportive, collaborative team environment and values shared learning
- Finds meaning in both direct clinical work and developing others, and is energized by doing both
Compensation & Benefits
Salary: $140,000/year. Benefits include medical, dental, and vision insurance; $25,000 life insurance policy; 401(k) Safe Harbor plan with employer match; paid time off with increased accrual at 3 and 5 years; 7 paid holidays plus 1 floating holiday; 5 days paid sick leave; $400 annual CE stipend; and licensure fees covered.
Additional perks include productivity bonuses, opportunities for raises, referral incentives, full administrative support, testing materials and resources, a user-friendly EHR system, monthly team meetings, group consultation, networking opportunities, and regular team-building activities.
