North Coast Neuropsychology, a thriving private practice serving several beautiful Northern California counties, is seeking an organized and experienced Psychological Testing Technician (Psychometrist) to join our team. The Opportunity and Schedule
We offer a part-time, stable position with guaranteed hours due to a consistent, high volume of clinical referrals.
- Primary Duties: Administer and score a full range of neuropsychological tests under the supervision of a licensed, board-certified neuropsychologist.
- Secondary Duties: Proofreading clinical reports, maintaining test protocol inventory, and managing supplies.
- Schedule: The core schedule is, at most, Monday and Wednesday (10:00 AM – 6:00 PM) and Friday (12:00 PM – 4:00 PM). There is some flexibility to adjust these hours.
- Compensation: Starting rate of $33.00 per hour. Retirement benefits are negotiable based on experience and commitment.
Income Expansion Opportunities
- Significant additional income is available for candidates with medical billing experience who can assist with insurance claims and management.
- This practice is likely to expand, which would open the door for full-time, salaried employment.
Required Qualifications
We are looking for a dedicated technician who can step into this specialized role with minimal on-the-job training.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Psychology or a related field. Graduate training in psychological testing is strongly preferred.
- Experience (Strongly Preferred): Prior experience administering, scoring, and documenting tests. Familiarity with core adult batteries is essential, including:
- WAIS (Wechsler Adult Intelligence Scale)
- WMS (Wechsler Memory Scale)
- DKEFS (Delis-Kaplan Executive Function System)
- WIAT (Wechsler Individual Achievement Test)
- Clinical Population: Ability to work professionally and effectively with diverse patient groups, aged 17 and older, primarily focused on dementia and complex psychiatric referrals.
- Training: The successful applicant will receive approximately one month of focused training with the current psychometrist to ensure a smooth transition.
