Cognitive Solutions LLC — an established neuropsychology and forensic neuropsychology practice in the DC metro region — is offering a post-doctoral fellowship in clinical and forensic neuropsychology. The fellowship provides structured, supervised training across clinical neuropsychological assessment, forensic evaluation, and specialized assessment formats, preparing fellows for independent licensure and board eligibility.
Training & Responsibilities
- Conduct supervised neuropsychological and psychological evaluations across clinical and forensic referrals
- Train in specialized evaluation formats — capacity, fitness-for-duty, and independent medical examinations (IMEs)
- Complete PTSD and TBI assessments for clinical and forensic populations
- Administer, score, and interpret standardized neuropsychological test batteries
- Prepare defensible, court-ready reports under supervision
- Observe and participate in forensic casework, including expert-witness preparation
- Receive weekly individual supervision satisfying Virginia licensure requirements
- Didactic training
- Ph.D. or Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology from an APA-accredited program
- Completion of an APA-accredited internship
- Graduate coursework and practicum in neuropsychological assessment
- License-eligible at the doctoral level in Virginia
- Goal of board eligibility (ABPP-CN) upon completion of the fellowship
- $38/hour (1099 contractor) — well above typical salaried post-doc pay
- 35–40 hours per week, with a flexible schedule and a collegial team environment
- As an independent-contractor position, the elevated rate is offered in lieu of employee benefits
- Clinical and forensic breadth — train in both, plus capacity, fitness-for-duty, and IME work most fellowships never offer
- Direct mentorship — learn one-on-one from a small, senior group of neuropsychologists, not lost in a large cohort
- Real casework — high-profile court, county, and government referrals from day one
- A clear path forward — structured toward independent Virginia licensure and board eligibility
