Job Description Adult Neuropsychologist Position

The NYULH Department of Neurology, Comprehensive Epilepsy Center (CEC) is recruiting an early- to early-mid career full-time adult neuropsychologist to be a part of our neuropsychology group within the CEC. The neuropsychologist will also engage in the clinical training and educational activities of the Neuropsychology Division which spans Department of Neurology specialty divisions and campuses within the NYULH enterprise.

NYULH is a world-class, patient-centered, integrated academic medical center, known for its excellence in clinical care, research, and education. The NYULH CEC is a NAEC certified level 4 epilepsy center comprised of a highly collaborative multidisciplinary professional group. The neuropsychology team is integrated into inpatient and outpatient settings performing consultative assessments. While demonstrated experience in epilepsy is required for the position, the range of consultation questions and multidimensional clinical presentations of the patient population require broad knowledge across specialties and disease presentations as well as the ability to tailor assessment approaches and written communications to different referral sources. This variety provides an intellectually stimulating and engaging environment for the neuropsychologist who is interested in life-long learning. The tremendous diversity (e.g., linguistic, cultural, ethnic, socioeconomic) of the patient population within our catchment area demands experience with and ongoing commitment to cultural competency and dedication to meeting the assessment needs of patients from any background.

The neuropsychologist will also perform specialty procedures (e.g., electrocortical mapping of cognitive eloquent cortex, Wada procedures). On the job training in these procedures can be provided for applicants who are otherwise strongly qualified for this position.

The position involves neuropsychology postdoctoral fellowship and practicum level training and supervision responsibilities, thus candidates with post-training supervision experience and interest in training will be competitive. Our neuropsychology team also enjoys rich clinical training program collaboration with other neuropsychologists across divisions, departments, and campuses within the NYULH enterprise which provides ample opportunity for a sense of professional community and support.

For interested candidates, there are opportunities for research development.

Minimum qualifications include PhD or PsyD from a Clinical Psychology (or related health service psychology area) program accredited by APA or CPA, and a two-year postdoctoral fellowship with specialization in Clinical Neuropsychology. NYS psychology licensure (or license eligible) is required. Board certification, or eligibility for certification, by the American Board of Professional Psychology (ABPP)/American Board of Clinical Neuropsychology (ABCN) is required. If not already attained, completion of the ABCN board credential is required within five years of hire. All candidates must meet NYULH criteria for psychology core privileges. Documentation of additional specialty education/training is required for non-core clinical privileges (e.g., neuropsychological assessment).

Salary range: $110,000-$130,000

The position includes a faculty appointment within the NYU School of Medicine and generous health benefits. The salary range listed is for full-time employment and does not include incentive compensation or benefits. Actual salary may not fall within the listed salary range; consideration will be made for experience, training, hospital/community need, and other factors.

Interested candidates should start the application process by forwarding a letter of interest and CV to: Chris Morrison, PhD, ABPP, NYULH Department of Neurology, Neuropsychology Division Chief (chris.morrison@nyulangone.org) as well as apply through Interfolio: http://apply.interfolio.com/122001.
