Overview: Peak Performance Institute is a thriving practice located in Goodyear, Arizona. We are known for our professionalism and expertise in helping to diagnose the most complex patients. We are seeking a full-time neuropsychologist/licensed psychologist to assess adults with a variety of conditions and disorders. These range from attention deficit disorders, to memory loss (mild cognitive impairment or a dementia condition or otherwise), assessing cognitive changes post injury (i.e., such as a concussion), stroke, COVID-19, or other neurodegenerative conditions (e.g., ALS, Multiple Sclerosis, Huntington’s, Parkinson’s). We also offer intelligence (IQ) testing as well as evaluate learning disorders (e.g., Dyslexia, Written Language, Reading and Math Learning Disorders), Autism Spectrum Disorder, Anxiety, Depression, Bipolar, OCD, PTSD, other psychological ailments, and surgical candidates (e.g., SCS, gastric). In addition, some experience of working with children is preferred, as we have a growing child assessment service as well. Thus, you will also be asked to help oversee children and adolescents with neurodevelopmental disorders.

Core Responsibilities:
œ Complete neuropsychological (structured) clinical interviews. Gather information about medical history, physical functioning, emotional issues, observations about behavior, and cognitive changes.
œ Help select the battery of measures assessing intellectual, academic, neuropsychological, and emotional behavioral functioning. [Psychometrists are available for administration and scoring.]
œ Be able to conceptualize a case, think critically, understand various contributing factors to their neuropsychological dysfunction, and incorporate strategies of differential diagnosis to help determine likely pathogeneses of reported (and measured) dysfunction.
œ Be able to establish rapport with patients and understand their concerns by posing various questions and observing verbal, and even more important - nonverbal cues. Good listening skills are needed to deduce the right information and to inspire confidence in the client. Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
œ Help to prepare a written report to include interpretation of assessment results, ICD-10-CM diagnostic formulations, and various medical, physical, and cognitive rehabilitation recommendations.
œ Complete debriefing with family members and patients regarding test results and rehabilitation recommendations and be able to convey this information concisely.

Job Requirements:
œ Psy.D. or Ph.D. from an APA/CPA accredited program in clinical psychology.
œ Successful completion of an APA/CPA accredited internship.
œ Comfort working with a diversity of patients.
œ Be precise and detail oriented.
œ Be reliable and able to multi-task in a busy environment.
œ Have training in neuropsychology.
œ Be licensed or license-eligible in Arizona.
œ We value service to the profession and support engagement and advocacy in professional organizations.
œ We are only seeking those who would like to be a long-term addition to our group.
œ Schedule is Monday-Friday. Typically, 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Dr. Dane Higgins, through CNS Memory Clinic, has been providing comprehensive neuropsychological assessment and consultation services for over 20 years. With Maryna Bilyk, Peak Performance Institute was created several years ago as our clinic has expanded to include not just adult assessments, but we now offer neuropsychological testing of children and adolescents as well.
